Partners in recovery are contracted. We are paying $125 a session. They provide one person to teach DP. I have two correctional deputies that are the 2nd teacher for the sessions and are also trained in DP. We do one female group and one male group once a week. Before coivd, I was doing two male groups a week. Medium and low classifications are able to signup for DP.

Anoka is in the process of starting this. Partners Behavioral Healthcare will be facilitating it. We have agreed on $125.00 per session (we will just be holding it for our male inmates). We will be holding one session a week. Initially we will be offering it to everyone.

We offer Decision Points in our jail at no cost. We only offer it to our general population units and each general population unit gets one session per week, which ranges from 1-1 1/2 hours per session. In order to conduct the program, according to the authors standards, you need 2 people who are trained in Decision Points to facilitate it.

Mower County is offering Decision Points twice a week currently in our Male Gen Pop. Our classes run from 1330 to 1600 hours offering two 1.5 hour sections. We only allow 6 inmates per program and also utilize a tiered lockdown schedule. With this we are able to have up to 12 inmates in the program twice a week. Our DP Program is headed up by Debra Schmitt, who is with our County Corrections team. She is also a trainer for Decision Points along with Kalie Drinkman (Polk County) and they periodically offer training around the state. Who participates in the program would be however you want to set it up. Here in our county it is first come first serve and there is rarely an empty seat. We would like to offer to more inmates but the scheduling and our other housing units make it tough to facilitate at this time. It has been a positive program and has even gained the attention of court staff and has been used in potential qualifications for downward departures during sentencing. As for the cost; you would need at least two people trained that would be the big expenditure, Large Sticky note pads, Markers, Copies of homework, feelings charts, DP Cards, folders. The rest is time equity. We do not pay a session fee.
If you have any other questions about our program please reach out I would be happy to talk about it.
