We are looking at ways to try and allow inmates to display their personal photos (we only allow them to have 6) in their cells and we were wondering if any other counties allow it and have found a way that works well for it. We sell photo albums that hold 24 photos. We don't allow them to display them at this time.

we have a small square painted on each cell wall (not sure what size - maybe a foot by a foot?) and they are allowed to post their pictures or whatever within that small space. Anything on the wall outside of that small square could result in disciplinary action.

Inmates can only keep items in their cell that can be stored on the desk, in the canteen bin, on the clothing shelf, or on the hook. Walls and vents must be kept free of all materials, photographs, pin-ups, artwork, tape, and other materials.

At Carlton Co, we painted a black 2'x2' square in each cell/bunk area. Inmates could decorate their space as they wished as long as it was appropriate and kept within the painted area.
Lake has done the same thing that Carlton has done and is worked great.
Sherburne Co. - Fortunately we have gone to all of our incoming mail/pictures (if approved) being scanned and inmates can view them on their tablets vs. physically having them.
Hubbard Co. - We scan all Mail and photos , the inmates can view them on their Testers.

Our inmates need to keep items in their bin as well. Thanks!
