My jail administrator forwarded me an e-mail from another county on needing to get equipment for their gym to accommodate geriatric and handicapped inmates. Wanting to see what other places have in place for equipment, if any, and if you can please share what you have and where you ordered from.
Thanks! Miranda

I guess we don't have anything we've specifically ordered for that demographic. However, we do have a gym, exercise videos (everything from yoga & ti chi to Billy's boot camp and Jillian Michaels). We have yoga mats, resistant bands, an Eliptical, a stationary bike, and pickle ball. We've ordered our big eqt from 2nd Wind out of Eden Prairie 952-500-0508. Other stuff we get from Target, Amazon, Flaghouse PE & REC, or Great Lakes Sports. We also have several books in our library on fitness (body weight fitness for exercises they can do in their cells) and large gym posters with muscle diagrams and stretching techniques. Call with any questions. 320-762-2139.

Thanks for your replies! We don't have any big stationary equipment to use so for now we ended up ordering some ankle and wrist weights, a couple 3lb kettle bells, a 4lb medicine ball, and a 5lb sand disc. We will keep these for when we have someone handicapped or geriatric that isn't able to use the other heavier equipment. Hopefully that will be sufficient for DOC inspection:)
Thanks!
