Good afternoon,
I’m currently making some changes at our facility regarding the 2911 Subp. 2a. Arrangement for religious services and counseling. With that being said I am looking to find out what information you have on the position as well as any fees that are paid to the religious leader? If this is a paid position is it a contracted number of hours? Per week, month, year?
Thank you in advance, Linda

Our full time Chaplain is through Good News goodnewsjail.org/ Our chaplain said he is willing to talk to you about the program and lead you in the right direction if you want to go this route.
His name is Chaplain John and can be reached at 612-596-8184. If he doesn't answer he is likely delivering bibles, leave him a message and he will get back to you.
He is paid through Goodnews and is considered a volunteer for us. He works 4 days per week, about 5 hours per day, depending on needs.
Good luck!!

Here in Anoka we have a Deacon. He is a volunteer for us but is paid through the Archdiocese and this is part of his employment. Pre-covid he would come in twice a week.

At Crow Wing we have a variety of religious volunteers that we can call and utilize when needed. They are all volunteers and not paid.

Otter Tail County has a non-denominational Christian Chaplain employed by JAIL Inc., a 503(c) corporation. The position is 20 hours per week. Program Coordinator Sgt. Berg can fill you in. (218) 998-8576. Other religious volunteers are allowed in on a volunteer basis.
