Hello all!
Yikes, what a wild ride we have all been through. I hope you are working on a plan to get back to a point that we would have called "normal" in February 2019.
My question to all of you, are your Program staff, detention staff or civilian staff? To explain, my staff are all detention deputies by title, working within the Programs Team. When the jail goes to emergency staffing or operations are running short for the shift, my programmers are the first to be pulled to work the line. This obviously forces me to cancel any and all programs that were scheduled for the day. This includes, mental health classes and volunteer lead classes.
On the flip side, if you have programmers that are not detention staff, they would not be subjected to be pulled and work operations. Due to my situation, I am most interested in facilities that have civilians working for them and if you have any hurdles to get over to make that happen.
I appreciate everyone's time for reading and responding if able.
Sgt. Adam Hernke

Here in Anoka Jill and I are not detention staff. We are regular county employees, salaried and not in any union. We go use of force training and since we both started as a detention deputy we will help out (female pat searches, etc.) because we are team players
