Just checking if any one has opened group programming in their jail. I am looking to make a proposal to my Sheriff and public health. I hope I can sell them on group size of 10 or less and require to wear masks and 6 foot distancing. I heard that the ACLU suit against the DOC in Moose Lake was tossed out by a judge, so maybe now I can get something going, since that was a consideration for us.
Any information or thoughts?

I was able to start inhouse programming. We follow CDC guidelines, 6 feet apart, must wear masks, no more than six in a group. I am waiting for IT to produce the laptop for me to pitch some volunteer lead Zoom meetings.

As of this time, Clay County still has no volunteers coming into the facility. We have opened visitation.
We have 2 program officers and a RAP coordinator. We go around each week and play bingo and trivia with each housing unit--handing out prizes we buy at walmart. We give them access to art supplies once a week with coloring pictures available. They also have their 1 hour of rec time each day.
I have reached out to various religious organizations to get our supply of various bibles on hand. If the inmates request crosswords, word finds, or coloring pages, our mental health team follow up with them and determines on a case by case basis on who is approved. I have also looked into organizations who donate books to facilities. We have not received anything yet, but they should be on the way.
