Some of our inmates are requesting to watch recovery based movies. Does anyone show these type of movies and have any suggestions? Thank you

Hello-
I do my best to try and show at least one addiction/recovery documentary each month as a program. They go over fairly well in our jail. I have a partial list on me today, but can review my records when I go back to work on Wednesday. Here are a couple that I have shown:
American Epidemic: The Nation's Struggle with Opioid Addiction (YouTube-35min)
Coming KLEAN: Stories of Overcoming Addiction, the Documentary (YouTube-35min)
I tend to keep my documentaries to 30-60 minutes unless I feel the content will keep them attentive for the whole time. And what I assume is standard procedure, I always view documentaries prior to showing them to the inmates. I'll try and remember to send any more that I have shown when I am back to work.

I have a few that are older covering Substance Abuse recovery. We have collected them over the years. Currently when I schedule these video programs with out population so low, I am getting very little attendance. Here are a few titles of the videos we have or show at times. (No More Sunsets - The last days of a meth addict)(Pathway to Change - ReCovery Direct Inc.) (Life on Life Terms Release & Re0ntegrations Preparation for Chemically Dependent Offenders) This is just a short prep video and older. (Turning Point - Breaking cycle addiction & Incarceration - Hazelden Community Corrections program). FYI - I have also start many faith base video programs but attendance is not good. Hope this helps.

We don't have any but if we did, we would have no issues showing them if they were in the allotted time slot.
