I'm curious what everybody offers for Pro Se detainees. Do you set limits to number of photocopies, time to review evidence, etc? Do you set any limits on their ability/time to view law books? Any other policies/procedures for Pro Se detainees? We do photocopies and charge the detainee's account for the copies. We allow them to review evidence in an interview room and allow them access to a small collection of law books that we have. We historically haven't really set a limit on these and haven't had anybody really push it.

Our Pre Se inmates are given discovery by paper copies unless it is videos. Videos are viewed from a laptop, which is provided by the County Attorney's Office. This is done in a secluded room by themselves. We do not have a law library so if they want something specific, they need to mail a letter requesting what they need. The law library will then provide that information.

Like Hennepin, we use a laptop for them to watch videos, view photos, etc. If they need any other information, I will print out statutes only if they give me the exact one, I advise them I will do no research for them. I also provide information to the state law library.
