Do any counties have a minimum sentence length, after good time and jail credit, that a person must have to be considered for work Release? So, a minimum number of actual days they will be spending in the facility to be eligible.

Houston County does not have a minimum. We do not have a minimum in Nicollet County. Steele has no limit. McLeod County does not have a limit.
Freeborn has no limit. There is also no limit on how many days that they will be able to work before release. Some sign up and only work one day before release. Benton County – Requires they be in-custody at least (4) days or more for his or her sentence.Must sit one day or report at least (8) hours prior before any release to work. To complete booking and UA test.Anything less then (4) days is not worth all the paper work set up, screening and Employer verification info. Isanti inmates must serve at least 7 actual days to qualify for Work release.
Douglas has a limit – must be sentenced to at least 5 days or it’s not worth the paperwork. Same for STS.
Clay technically has no limit. Its more of an understanding they need to be here longer then 7 days.
Becker does not have an official limit, but just based on the time it takes to get booked, do a UA, get medical clearance and complete paperwork, it works out that about 4 days is the limit. We have been looking at setting a limit. Thinking between 7 or 14 days. Sounds like 7 days is a reasonable limit based on some responses. Aitkin does not have a minimum. But if they are only here for 5 days, they probably won't go out because of the time it takes to process everything. Meeker County is ten days minimum.

We have a minimum of a 5 day sentence in order to be considered for work release or STS.

Crow Wing has a minimum of 5 days being they don't work the day they report and our release time is 5am so they would at least be working 3 days then. We don't want people to lose their jobs so this number seems to work. Thanks!
